Welcome to Treetops Nursery

Treetops Nursery in Mulbarton

Offering spaces form 1 year old.

At Treetops Nursery Mulbarton, we’re proud to be the original home of the Treetops family. Our approach centres on nurturing curiosity and imagination through heuristic play, drawing inspiration from the ‘Neutrals and Naturals’ and ‘Curiosity Approach’. Led by Lisa and a dedicated team, we encourage children to explore their world—whether that’s discovering nature, picking fruit, or sharing handmade gifts in the community.

Our ethos, ‘Children blossoming in a nurturing environment’, reflects our heartfelt commitment to helping every child feel valued, inspired, and supported as they grow.

In September 2024, we expanded our Mulbarton location by opening a preschool within the grounds of Mulbarton Primary School. This initiative has significantly improved the transition to reception, as children become familiar with the school environment, staff, and routines in advance. Our extensive outdoor space provides children with ample opportunities to explore and engage with nature, while our carefully designed educational activities encourage learning through play. As a result, our children begin school feeling confident, secure, and well-prepared for the next stage of their education. We are proud to support each child’s growth and look forward to seeing them thrive as they embark on their educational journey.

Establishing the nursery within the school gave us the wonderful opportunity to create a dedicated baby room in the village hall – a truly special place for little ones to begin their journey. Our caring and highly trained team is passionate about supporting each baby’s development, ensuring the environment is always calm, welcoming, safe, and engaging. We take great joy in nurturing every child, helping them flourish and build happy, confident foundations for the future.

As Maria Montessori beautifully said, “The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.”

Karina King

Manager – Pre School

My name is Karina, and I have dedicated more than 24 years to the Early Years sector, beginning my journey at the age of 16 when I first started studying Early Years and completing placements within childcare settings. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience across a variety of roles and environments, with nearly five of those years proudly spent at Treetops.

I hold a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, achieved in 2004, and a Foundation Degree in Early Years (Level 5), which I completed in 2013. I am passionate about continuing my professional development and aspire to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in the future.

Throughout my career, I have progressed through a range of leadership positions, including Room Leader, Deputy Manager, Training and Development Manager, and Nursery Manager. I have also been fortunate to support the opening of several new nurseries, something I particularly enjoy. Supporting staff development, mentoring colleagues, and helping teams grow in confidence and knowledge are aspects of my role that I find especially rewarding.

As a mother to two wonderful girls, a proud Cockapoo owner, and recently engaged to my partner, family is at the heart of everything I do. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming and spending quality time socialising with family and friends.

From a young age, I always knew I wanted to work with children. Being naturally caring, nurturing, kind, and compassionate, I find great fulfilment in supporting children during the most important stages of their development. I am passionate about creating child-centred learning experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Watching children learn, grow, and reach their full potential is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

This brings me to Treetops, a place I believe is truly special. Its natural and nurturing ethos, commitment to children’s wellbeing, strong sense of teamwork, and wealth of enriching activities and resources make me feel incredibly privileged to be part of such a dedicated and inspiring setting.

Michelle Welch

Manager – Baby and Toddler

Working in childcare is much more than a job for me; it is my passion. I genuinely love what I do and feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a profession that has such a positive impact on children’s lives.

As a Level 3 qualified childcare professional, I have worked hard to progress from Room Lead to Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager. Looking back on my journey, I am proud of everything I have achieved and grateful for the experiences that have helped shape me into the person and leader I am today.

At the heart of everything I do is the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, loved, valued, and listened to. Building trusting relationships with children and their families is something I am truly passionate about.

In my leadership role, I strive to lead with kindness, positivity, and integrity, helping to create a welcoming environment where children, families, and staff feel supported and part of a caring community.

I feel incredibly proud of my career and privileged to play a role in helping children learn, grow, and develop, while creating happy memories that will stay with them for years to come.
